Im thinking of making a track day car and was wondering if anyone
new how the best way around was

im thinking of putting a cosworth into a mk4 or mk3 escort running the rear wheels if i new how much it would cost for the shell to have the mods done and were the best place to go it would help me lots

company called Xtrac used to do rwd conversions on mk3/4 escorts, but i don't know if they are still around, can't see why not tho

 

D J Motorsport are the people you want, you should be able to find them on the net, one of the many conversions they have done was to put complete 4x4 cossie running gear and engine into a renault 5 turbo !

theres a S1 shell on ebay with the mods already done, have a look at that

 

X trac make transmissions for F1 , Touring , Rallycross and other motorsport cars, i think you mean gartrac ! they are still Very much in business and located just south of Guildford ,near Godalming .
gartrac and Genesis shells are often available , check out the rally webistes as these shells were converted to re-shell Mk 1 & 2 Escorts and share a similar wheelbase .
