Mondeo remap

Mondeo remap
I have a 2.0 petrol zetec Mondeo. I'm thinking of having a remap at £250. Is it worth it? I hear that I might only gain about 5bhp in which case it hardly seems to justify the expense.
Has anyone else done it or can anyone give me genjuine feedback please.
Thanks

The Blu-fin is about £200, and gives you a handy code reader as well (remaps often offer similar gains to the bluefin "generic" map)
Looking at the BF before/ after graphs, there is practically no difference upto 4k, above 4k there is a progressive gain untill there is a 10HP gain at 6300rpm
if you were "redlining" it through the gears upto the cars top speed you would probably notice a slight? improvement, especially at high speed, and the throttle response would probably be improved,
If you are often in "convoy" with another car that is slightly quicker/ faster than you(rs), adding the remap/bluefin may be enough to keep up with the other car (or enable you to pull away from a car that had similar performance to yours, after the remap)
again, you would need to "redline" it to gain any advantage (though there is a small torque gain from tickover to the redline)
its a small advantage and its completeley up to you whether you feel it is worth it, and how important the small advantage is to you
For most people, the small gain is probably not worth the cost and you would probably be better getting a quicker car - but if you like/ want to keepo the car and plan to spend a bit of money on it (so it all depends!)
the small gains are typical of NA cars with the turbocharged cars (petrol or diesel)giving the biggest gains
A freer- breathing intake (eg k&n panel filter or cone filter with CAIS) in conjuncction with the BF/ remap should give a little bit more power too (intake 1st/ remap after)
