Default EFI Conversion Problem.. No Spark!!

Hello everyone

Ive just finished the EFI conversion on my Series 2 Escort RS Turbo. Im using OFAB Loom & ECU and a 36-1 Trigger Wheel setup for the CPS.

The problem i have is that i cant get a spark for love or money. Everything is connected properlly, got ignition, turns over well and have fuel getting to the injectors etc

Ive tryed different ECU, Coil Pack, Leads, MAP Sensor, Map Supressor, EDIS, CPS but still nothing.

It doesnt even seem to cough or splutter it just keeps turning over.

I know the loom and ecu is good because it came out of my mates running car, also i have checked all the sensors to make sure there working correctly and checked the resistance of each sensor plug

Can anyone help?

Thanks

checked for live at pin one on ecu? have you got a pulse on the two outer wires on the coil pack? are there good earths? is the ignition live in the centre of the CPack live whilst cranking?

when you say a 36-1 wheel is this instead of a frst flywheel? check the distance from the sensor to the pulley is 110% spot on

Yes mate have live at pin 1. Have a pulse on both green wires going to the coil as you say the two out ones. Yes i have good earths and ignition live is the centre wire which is showing correctly.

Yes Jon. The Trigger kit is set up spot on with the correct gap on the CPS and the CPS picks up the missing the tooth when at 90degrees BTDC

Have you plugged your speed sensor wire in ontop of the g/b

When I converted my van to ofac, it wouldn't start due to the g/ b sensor, plugged it in and it fired up on the button
If you look on a wiring diagram it goes to the Injectors and the coil iirmc only thier to raise the idle speed when slowing down to stop it stalling

As gup said. you need to run a VSS, else it will die at junctions...

just ralised bournemouth!, im inherts sorry mate will try and asdsist however, if it was me i no u prop tested already i would check gapping, or even better i had same prop when my gaping was incorrect i used a fiat punto 55plate and extended my cps wire with a sensor on the end ran it close to the crank pulley on fiat with my ignition on and all plugs out to stop it starting or remove fuel pump fuse, i then saw a spark when i held it close by hand isnt modest i know but it worked as a good diagnostic test, als i would check all loom earths, coilpack, all igntion related wires and connectors, edis module i dod not use a trigger wheel but i wouldnt worry as all it is doing is the same as the efi flywheel 36/1 and sends an inital signal check everything agin and again, also the wires on the cps have to be right way round had problem with this previously aswell switch them over and give it ago first before doing anything

Nope still nothing. The cps wiring was all good. Its got to the point now where ive lost all enthusiasm to sort it. Its a shame really because ive spent 8months doing bits to it and doing stuff i wanted to but now i might have to break it as its causing me such a headache i dont know what to do for the best

Ive tried everything that everyone has suggested and still no luck. Its so strange and the more i look at it the more it winds me up lol. I think its time to get a professional to sort the problem and get it running

You was right mate lol reason i didnt have it connected was because it was wrapped up in tape with the amal valve. So i unwrapped all the tape and found the wire which is the earth for the EDIS. Atleast it runs now but has a small missfire so im guessing it needs setting up properlly. Happy Days tho
