Hi all just wondered if you could help me, I have just replaced the timing belt on my van but after putting it back together I have a problem

It just wont idle & there is alot of smoke. I think I might know what the problem i s but i am not sure. When I was lining everything up for TDC the pump was off by about half an inch so I undid the 3 bolts on the pulley & moved it slightly then tightened it back up Any help of where it should be?

think u are right u need to find a mate with a snap on timing light and the diesel converter he will be able to strobe the pump in

 

hey adsmith did you ever sort the problem out on your van if so what did you do ihave the same problem wont idle and lots of smoke
