Mk2 Mondeo - battery & gauge problems
Hi All!
My mothers Mondeo (Mk2 2.0 Petrol) has seemingly developed a serious electrical issue overnight. It started and drove fine yesterday, no problems. Today, battery is flat as a pancake, not even enough juice to make the starter twitch. Other symptoms, when i turn the ignition to I, the speedo needle creeps up to about 40 mph then slowly sinks back down to rest. I boost started it with my charger and took it for a run (20 mins) to give the alternator a chance to run up a bit of charge, and noticed that the temperature gauge didn't move from rest the whole journey (heater was warm, so coolant was warming). Half an hour after getting back, battery was dead again.
Please tell me someone knows what this could be!
