Just bought bosche replacement cap and rotor arm for my mk 4 erst.

When the cap is on should I feel or hear contact on the rotor arm to the points in the cap or should it turn smoothly without notice / restistence

Just want to make sure she is sitting right before she goes back on

No, there should be no contact between the rotor arm and segments in the cap, just the centre cap button to the rotor arm centre.
