Default Cosworth Master Cylinder Problems

Hi all. I've just finished putting together a mk5 cortina with cosworth YB engine. Spent most of this weekend in a frenzied effort ot get it ready for the MoT on Wednesday! Anyway, everything's done, just needed to bleed the brakes.....

I have a 2wd saph electric type ABS master cylinder with no ABS, just the master cylinder. It's all wired up so the pump runs. Bled front brakes in conventional way, no problems. However, there's no fluid going to the rear. Followed the right method, open valve, press pedal, turn on pump. Nothing!!

I've got the front calipers plumbed to the front and rear M10 unions on the valve block, the rears are off the M12 union.

Some people on the net say to block off the M12 and use an M10 for front and the other for rear. But the cossie has the M12 for rear, right?

Pump was off a car for a few years so could somethin be siezed???

I'm stumped..... any suggestions????

Why did you use that master?

I used a sierra servo mounted on a modded bulkhead bracket and used a 25mm RS turbo master cylinder which had the outlets towards the inner wing away from the turbo

Worked really well with 283mm on front with mondeo calipers and std cossie rears.

Well, I've worked out the problem. It all works perfectly now! As for my choice of master, basically 2 reasons. 1) I'd seen it used successfully on a few other Cortinas and 2) I had one in the garage! No brainer!

No pics of the car I'm afraid. Maybe sometime soon when my list of jobs gets shorter rather than longer......
