Default hand brake stuck on

Hi All

Just returned after 5 days away and my MK 1 mondeo started no problem but when trying to move it the rear left wheel is stuck on, no problems before, I have took the wheel off but cannot get the hub off, the shoes seem to have locked up, hanbrake cable seems to be free, any advise what the problem could be and how do I remove the hub please, I can only assume the adjusters are up tight,

thanks in advance

if its a drum brake ,hit it with a hammer till it frees up mate.

Thanks James
I am just a bit concerned the drum will shatter . I will try with a rubber one first and then with a bit of wood to soften the blow, I will let you know how it goes thanks again

The moral of the story is don't leave the handbrake applied when the car is not going to be in use for a period of time.

Once you have freed it initially the heat will unbind it!
