No fuel to injectors
Right ive had this problem for the past few days and its driving me up the wall.
Its on an Xr3i MFi engine.
Basically im not getting any fuel to the injectors. I checked all the fuel lines going into the metering unit and ALL of them have fuel and pressure running thru them EXCEPT for the 4 injector lines. i checked that it wasnt a vacuum problem and manually pushed down on the metering flap thing, no difference. I checked the lines werent blocked and there not. Ive also loosened off the valve to let more fuel thru but that made no difference.
I tried a different metering unit from a Ford breakers but again the exact same problem.
Any ideas what so ever? I just dont understand how fuel and pressure can reach and flow thru EVERY line except the injectors
Cheers

Could be airlocked. This sometimes happens when you run out of fuel, or break into the fuel system for what ever reason.
Easiest way I find is to crack off all 4 injector banjo fittings on the top of the meter head and get someone to crank it over. While it is being cranked over, work the flap up and down until fuel comes out of the fitting. Nip them up and see what happens...

Well tried it and ok only cranked it over for 20 seconds but not even a bubble of air surfaced. the petrol is priming RIGHT to the base of the injector lines/top of the meter head. i just cant understand why it wont move past this point

Is there anything that actually controls the draw of fuel from the metering unit? I know theres no ECU to do so, but i dont know, is there something(dizzee or something at a totally random guess) that orders/ draws the fuel to the injectors?

fuel pump is a good one as it will sound all ok and you will get some fuel up to injection unit but it will only push out at say 15 psi but the injectors need say 50 psi to open brother had this after useing fuel system flush which killed the fuel pump and a week later the regulater went down

Ok thanx for that. I have pressure to the cold start valve... and other lines. im assuming these dont need as high pressures?

Right ill check the fuel pressure tomorow. Well the rotor arm in the dizzee turns when tryin to fire up so im guessin the fuel pump should be trying?
Only thing that confuses me with the fuel pressure thing is that fuel can reach the top of the meter unit but wont spurt out or anything? So im guessin inside the meter unit where the fuel is heading for the injector lines it gets very thin or something so high pressure is needed to shift it?
or is it freeflowing and should only need the pressure as soon as it actually gets to the injectors themselves?

Today i was bored so i basically loosened off the warm up regulator lines and primed, and fuel poured out. tightened these. Then i checked the fuel pump fuse, it was ok, but the casing was slightly cracked, so i replaced it, undid an injector, turned over the engine and theres fuel gettin to the injectors now HOWEVER its only dribbling out. So any ideas? lack of pressure? or air in the system or anything else?

sounds like low pressure/knackered pump/blocked fuel filter? does it come out harder on the meter head pipes? or same as injectors? hav u run outta fuel recently? id say get another pump first for the sake of a tena at the breakers

Right well ive managed to get fuel coming out the injectors after replacing the relay and also if i push on the flap myself. and so theres obviously a vacuum problem somewhere. HOWEVER when i do get fuel coming out the injectors, there is still no sign wot so ever of the car firing. It just turns and turns. Theres spark at the plugs. Leads may not be in correct order but still it should at least pop or bang with the incorrect lead order.. Any ideas?
