fault code P0100 and P0251 Mondeo 07 ST
Any help appreciated, i have had car fault codes read this morning due to yes you guessed it glow plug light flashing ! light appears when overtaking or on motor way basically when booting the car, if i stop and turn off light stays off but comes back as soon as i accelerate and goes into limp mode.
P0100 is the air mass meter and P0251 is related to pump metering fault cams/injectors etc.
is there a way of identifying which code is at fault as both codes could effect each other air mass is £150 quoted by Ford today but the other code could mean serious outlay - desperate not to go round in circles and spending a fortune in getting to the real cause of the problem.
thanks guys
Steve.

Worth doing a search with 'p0251'

Po221 - throttle pedal sensor position circuit fault (car will start with this code)
Po100 - air flow meter/MAF fault (car will start with this code)
Po1000 - this is normally shown if codes have been deleted previously and OBD drive cycle not carried out (does not effect running of car)
P1211 - Injector Control Pressure Sensor Above/Below Desired Level.
P2291 - fuel pressure low on cranking
P0251 is due to lack of fuel pressure, can be pump failure, can be injectors leaking back excess fuel which reduces pressure - ideally needs leak off test doing on injectors and fuel pressure test on live data.
Cracking off the injectors won't tell you the full story, you need to know if there is excessive leak back from each injector. If there is an internal fault with an injector the fuel goes in the high pressure side and straight out of the return NOT into the engine.

thanks for your reply GVK - you are correct
I have managed to get to the bottom of this and car now performing very well, for future reference if any of you guys get these two codes showing,
As we know P0100 is the air flow / MAF meter, quite simple on this i removed the meter and cleaned with a quick drying non residue contact cleaner, simply unscrewed cleaned and returned, i did not disconnect the loom from the meter as these wires are a bit delicate.
Upon test drive the glowplug returned which was annoying, as for a while it performed ok, this time the engine management light came on and the car just cut out, apparently some fault codes show on the glow plug warning light first and then after numerous activations the management light shows and stays on - thinking the worst i got it round to my local diesel injection specialists who ran a full diagnostic check and leak test to check the injectors and a fuel line pressure test - thankfully all injectors were ok but the pressure test was very low indeed so new ford diesel fuel filter fitted and job done - car is now back to life and a pleasure to drive again.!
