what boost for my s2 ?
i picked up my s2 today and it has a bleed valve on it ! the boost guage is reading over 1.5 bar and the car doesnt like it im not surprised tbh i think it has a -31 actuator or at the very least its not a std one and its had cams also . the thing is i dont know what its got inside it std etc etc ? so whats the max boost they will run ? i will have to investigate a little more see whats what with the engine and ecu .

That pressure sounds like an awful lot for not only the car but the turbo (Assuming it's the standard T3) imo.
As standard they are circa .7 PSI, your ECU has been "Chipped" else you woulden't be able to run the additional boost.
As it's new and unknown to you, your best off taking it for a setup where the AFR etc will be checked, for all you know some ill infomed meddler could have turned the bleed valve and you have a ticking time bomb, it will give you piece of mind as well.

1.5 bar is a bit much, the most i ran my s1 was 18psi
with low compression bottom end ect
would agree with martin and wind the bleed valve in so your
running standard boost and take it to your local tunner for a good
setup.

just a related question rather than start a thread. what is a safe amount of boost to run on a std t3? assuming the fuelling ect is altered suitably? is 14-15psi a safe amount on a healthy turbo?

I would think on a engine and turbo with high mileage that sort of boost could cause problems.

Yeah i'd say 14-15 psi is plenty for a standardish engine, im running 15 and will only go up to 18-19 when i fit my management and new cooler
There a scream when you start getting towards 20 psi though

Yeah the difference is great, I could have done with a extra gear and higher speedo
