Hi people.
The key for my '97 ghia x escort no longer unlocks my drivers door. It unlocks fine and works the other side unlock/lock and works the central locking fine.
Just want a pointer as to how to repair. dn't need any more headaches.

Could u not just swap the driver and passenger locks over? Not sure if they're the same?

 

Lock repair kit? Often on ebay or from ford,

I'd fit remote central locking so you never have to use them!

 

yeah possibly daz. Will have a look 2moro.... is fitting RCL a long job? Got a list of other things to do aswell but sounds like a good improvement

Spray some wd40 in it my drivers side lock was the same and some times couldnt open it or lock it and after two years i sprayed wd in it and its like new. I was just about to get a new lock set but no need now.

 

Strangely not tired that yet.......... Will give it a squirt in the morning for a laugh. If not will look for a replacement lock or repair kit

Spray it right in the lock with the starw that comes with the tin. Hope it does the job.

 

Did you try spraying wd40 in your locks after mate.

 

I had the EXACT same problem...eventually none of my locks opened except the boot, i brought new locks off ebay for like a tenner, only took an hour to put em all in
