What they said ^^, I suspect you have an ERST, if so they have a different type of they have a different type of DV, and you have the wrong one!

Dont single piston ones not work correctly on a erst. Sure my mate bought one years ago as spares or repair and he blocked off the dv and hey presto perfect. tried it with a double piston and that worked just fine

The car is a series 1 rs turbo it's a baileys dv but not sure if it's a twin piston one when you rev it it makes the psst noise but on tick over it stalls ! It has a boost gauge running from the inlet manifold even when you disconnect it from there and run the pipe from the dv straight to the boost gauge still stalls

As I suspected then with the car, they need a certain type of DV, you have the wrong type and have created an air leak which is causing the running problem!

Bailey dv36 is also a twin piston but the venturi type and dv26 is also a twin piston, you more than likely are running a single piston dv24 which is used on the efi fiesta turbo's which is unsuitable for cars with an airflow meter like the series 2 rs turbo.

Take it off and if you look into the tube part if there's not a bar in the middle it aint no good for your car ie it's a single type!
