Default Mondeo TDCi probs

Hi all little help.

2002 Mk3 Mondeo Zetec S TDCi 130bhp.

got car as a non runner and what the owner said happen looked like a glow plug prob. Old glow plugs not workin replaced and workin coil light stops flashing on dash.

Now we find there no fuel going to the engine.

Fuel filter looked new so took it off and filled it up with fuel but no fuel being pushed down the out pipe.
Have put some more fuel into the car incase it also has a faulty fuel display.

have plug a computer in and no faults shown.

any idea people, is it the fuel pump the last owner said he was driving it the coil light start to flash and it cut out that was it witch should mean glow plugs or relay.

any help be brill.
Going over it 2moro to try find what it is

Could be absolutely anything
the tdci engines are pure cack to be honest
i used to work as a fitter at 1 of the midlands top diesel specialists

the fuel pumps are problematic as is the injectors
but if theres no fault codes its a little strange

if i was you id give it a sniff of easy start to make sure it will run & its not something drastic

Has anyone else had a play about with it ?

Can you see all the dynamic parameters on the computer
your plugging it into ?
So you can check for sensors working etc

they can be a absolute twat to bleed up after the fuel pipes have been took off

last owner sayin he not replaced anything to don anything witch aint true cos air intake pipe was off and air box cover loose and fuel filter looks new.

check all fuses and relays all ok no faults shown up got some1 form work over the weekend to bring the fuel drain van over see if he can pull fuel up i think it just a air lock big one.

and i hope it all it is - A good suck

How many wires go to the sender unit
cos if its only 2-3 its not a purge pump its just a sender unit & you will be wasting ya cash replacing it

if theres 4 or more its worth a try
but im pretty sure mondeo tdci dont have electric pump in tank

try booting the tank from underneath as if its got a in-tank pump
& the motor is jammed this may free it off
we used to do this on pug hdi's as they are prone for in tanks going

id get a inline hand pump
commonly known as a bollock lol
connect it to the fuel supply pipe that goes before the fuel filter
Disconnect the suply pipe to the main fuel pump
then pump the bollock till fuel comes out the pipe at the pump
make sure all the air is out n its just diesel coming out
re connect the pipe to fuel pump but leave the hand pump connected
get a decent battery & crank the car over aswell as pumping
the hand pump
if its air locked this should get you running but sometimes
it doez take a while for all the air to come out the system

the common rail systems are a propper arse to bleed up

if it was a normal tddi you could do the same routine to bleed it up but leave the injector pipes loose till fuel shoots out them then nip them up n it would run

tdci are a bit different & ya not supposed to leave the injector nuts loose
altho if we had 1 at garage that was a tit to bleed we would do
Just dont stand anywhere near it as its a lot higher pressure on a tdci than a tddi

hope this helps you
or even someone else

if you was local to me i would of come n had a look
