Am new here so HI guys ,ok problem started with a large cloud of white smoke lasting about 30 seconds or more , car is 04 plate 18oo diesel ghia duratorq eng, symptoms include cold start heater plugs not working,poss heater sensor on inject pump as well occasional loss of throttle when cold in first gear front heated screen intermitent working, fuel consumtion has gone up digital fuel reader would go from 0 to 40 mpg in about 2 hundred yards now it takes 4 miles to get to 38 mpg also reader freezes after two days, I have gone round all sensors etc with my avo meter and the only one with no reading is the fuel metering valve on the injecter pump is this the cause of all my probs ? and if I change the unit dose the fault codes need in the ICU need correcting ? also where can I get one on the cheap cos ford want £196 there avin a laugh , so any imput wellcome guys cheers paul.
