The loom i bought for the engine bay was second hand.
Were does these two simple wires come from.
What are the colours ect.
I might have to unwrap the loom.

As I said to you in your other post re the location, iirc the oil light wire is green and white striped, can't remember on the remote starter wire tbh, You can easily make your own connections for these by running your own to the main connector on the back of the dash where the original wire will still be connected and a new remote for the starter.
As said both are part of the car loom, incidentally I believe on 4x4's the oil light wire was part of the engine loom.

I have asked to have the 3 threads merged.
First was i had the engine turning over using a remote from the black and blue wire at the back of the key barrel.
It turned about 6 times and then stopped.
It still has 12v going to it but does now not turn.
I can manually turn the engine.
Even when i put the remote wire on the battery positive it did not turn.
I will check the connection at the weekend ,if all is good i will remove the starter moter and have it checked.
The next is the oil pressure switch the pictures attached show a terminal and i am thinking if i connect one end to the oil pressure switch the other end to the spare wire to the spare terminal the gauge may work.
Please advize on the 2 problems
3rd problem is i found a earth problem turned up in the rear lights i had a look around and found two duff lights .i replaced them and they came on without any light switch .
Just the ignition key on.
Any auto sparkies can you give me a check list of things i can investigate please.

No you can't use the pressure switch, as it is just that, i.e. a switch!
For a gauge you will need the correct sender which is calibrated for the gauge, this then needs an adapter fitted ideally so you can have both the light and the gauge working.
Re the lights, if they are on permanently then they have a power feed going to them, I would pull the light fuse, this should extinguish the lights, if it doesen't then you have a feed from elsewhere, it's almost certainly been caused by someones ill informed meddling.
Earthing issues can cause problems but not like what your describing.
If you can isolate the problem to the light circuit then it's far easier to resolve the issue!

Thankyou has given me a to do list at weekend.
1 - Take the clocks out and test for the oil pressure switch wire.wire it up
2 - take the fuses out until the rear lights turn of.
Then find the positive that has gone astray.
3 - Check wires on the starter moter and wire in to the black blue wire.
Check starter moter.
I think once these items are sorted the car will be a little more tamed.
I will get my auto sparki head on for a week or two.
The starting of the car can commence then.

The wiring for the starter and oil pressure switch come off the main loom where it runs along the passenger side chassis leg.
I Put the same racetec oil pressure gauge in mine, you need an adaptor that screws into the engine block then the racetech pressure sender and the original pressure switch fit into the adaptor so both can be used, you can get all the bits you need from Burton Power or might be able to pick them up cheaper on Ebay.
http://www.burtonpow...t=40&q=racetech
The two lights at the back that come on as soon as the ignition is switched on - are these the brake lights, the pedal switch could be knackered or need adjustment.
This is info i got of another site.
The wires are on the passeger side chassis leg.
I will have a better look at the weekend .
I have looked but without any luck so far.

You never said about the ignition, yes they are!
Firstly check the switch as it's N/C, thus if it has come out of it's holder the brake lights illuminate (It's at the top of the brake pedal), when it's in it's holder the brake pedal keeps the switch depressed in and hence the lights extinguish!

Thankyo.
I will clear these snags at weekend and then see were we are from there.
If the brake lights being on stops the starter from working i am on a winner.
Lol only kidding but i will sort the probs out at weekend.
If anyeone has a two door saph ,the passenger chassis leg is were my starter wire comes from and oil pressure switch.
If someone could have a look and see the colour of the wires i no one is white and green and i do have a spare green n white wire but it has a female spade on it .
It could be a connection to the oil pressure switch.
Then there is only the starter to fix.

I will attach a female bullet connecter on the green and white and then see if the oil warning light works.
can't wait till tmz now as i am doing electrics all day and i am ok at them.
I will sort most things out if i just stick to electrics.
Now the mystery black wire and all is sorted.
Thanx for looking tmz ,a good description or pic and that will save me some bodge wiring.

I found the green n white, and the starter black and blue.
The starter was wired up to my coil.
Hence the next question.
I have a green wire on my - on the coil ,were does the positive wire come from.
Please.
The above can't be right,i am still struggling with this.
I can't find a green and white.
The one i am thinking of is green and brown.
I wired that up and the oil light went on so it must be that one.
Now for the remote wire .
Is it the same as the positive on the coil.
Black and blue.
A splice could of come out?
