hi guys, sorry if this is a re-post but cant seem to find any threads on this... looking on behalf of a friend, hes got a erst cvh standardish spec, 170 odd bhp, what would be best to use, were thinking of mobil 1 10w60 not too sure if that would be too thick? cheers

10w40 semi synthetic on standardish engines is fine or mobile1 motorsport fully synthetic 15w50 for highly tuned examples. Whatever oil you go for is really a personal thing as so many people have different views but whatever oil you do get just make sure its a good quality oil and is changed regular cvh's need looking after so every 5000 miles oil service is a good place to start

The Mobil 1 10/60 has replaced the 15/50. I've been using it with no problems and at only £30 for 5 litres from Matt Lewis, it's a winner IMO

cheers for the replys guys, like said alot of views on different types of oil, and matt lewis is ftw! hes recommended the 10w60, its cheap (from him) and thats what i run in my sapph brilliant oil imo
