Default MAP sensor fault on 2007 corsa D 1.2

can anyone shed any light on this one?
I have a 2007 corsa D,its a 1.2 petrol and the engine light is on.
ive plugged the car into a scanner and got 1 fault code
PO068-manifold absolute pressure sensor circuit range/performance.
Ive wiped the code but it comes back as soon as you start the engine!
ive fitted a new map sensor and grommet but this has made no difference at all.
The voltage seems fixed at 4.82 volts and the pressure is fixed at 101 kPa.
this does not alter with the engine stopped or running or the map sensor plugged in or unplugged!
Any ideas???

Right. You need to test the wiring plug. Check for a live (5v) and an earth. The 3rd wire is feedback to control unit. Do a continuity test on that. If all of them are ok and the sensor is a good sensor, it leaves the control unit itself.

That's straight from TIS (Vauxhall protocol)

Good luck!

I have a vauxhall corsa club reg. 2007. The emission light kept coming on and then would go off, then car started stalling and generally not running well. My mechanic plugged it into the whatsit and said there was an error with my map sensor. This was duly replaced and although the car is now running smoother there is occasionally a smell of petrol. Is this connected to the map sensor? Being a woman i am, of course, totally baffled by the workings of an engine.
