Exclamation Electrical fault? Fast clock & dim alarm LED

Hi, I have an annoying problem with my clock on my Escort Flight, MK6. When the engine is running the clock can be set to the correct time and will work correctly. When the ignition is swithched off the clock jumps forward a minute about every 10 seconds.

The LED underneath the clock is also flashing very dimly. i am assuming these 2 problems are related.

It seems to me that there is a poor electrical connection somewhere but the LED problem could also be related to the alarm system as the driver door lock was damaged after an attempted break in (which i dont know much about as it was with a previous owner so i dont even know if the alarm/immobiliser has been disabled)

Sorry for such a long "first post" but im trying to give as much info as possible to see if anyone can help.

Thanks,

Rob

It would be nice to get this sorted. Most of my instrument cluster lights don't work either. I will try and investigate it this afternoon.
