wrong engine oil ??
Hi Guys, i m in trouble i think ... today i looked my car engine oil and it was on bottom so i thought i got i will top it up.. any way i want to halfords and told the man i got 1.4 tdci ford fiesta 2010 model ... i need 10w/ 40 oil as its says in the book ....so he pickled up the bottel for me and says thats the one for ur car.. use the halfords make as ur only paying for the name...so i thought its £10 cheeper
come home and wait for eingine to cool down and then i just put it in nearly a litre or so .. just look at a bottel and its says petrol ... i dont know what to do now
will it seize the eingine if i start the engine or what shell i do ?? plz help

what grade and quality is the oil? the petrol part on the bottle is just to make it easier (in most cases) to choose the right oil
should really be 5w30 in the peugeot DV diesel engines tho

I don't think it will make much is any difference as the viscosity is the same!
Totally incorrect what you were told in Halfords though!
Brands like Castrol are dearer because it's better quality, it's what they specalise in, something that cannot be said for Halfords own make! For something as important as oil I personally never compromise!
