The auto bit makes this a bit more tricky, however the engine itself will bolt straight in if its the early mondeo silvertop engine, using the original gearbox from your car. Unsure if it's traditional auto or electric control.

If its regular old school auto you should be able to bolt new engine to it and drive away fine, if not it'll change gear at odd times and generally feel rubbish.

spend the money on a faster auto car i'd say. auto boxes are for rear wheel drive imo.

If your engine is a Zetec E (exhaust at front) then it should mostly fit yeah, the sump is probably different on the auto to line up with the bigger box so you might find only 4 or 5 bolts line up.

The G reg box will be a front starter though so you need to make sure you can swap to front starter if yours is currently rear.

Sounds like a pain though.
