what is different in a fiesta st engine to standard 2L engine

What "standard" 2 litre engine? The engine in the Fiesta ST is only used in the Fiesta ST in the ford range.

ST150 ENGINE (Also badged duratec ST)
Mazda developed engine actually called the duratec HE
is not a detuned version of the st170 engine.
chain driven double overhead cam
inlet manifold to the front
all alloy construction
in an st150

okay thats not good news then,mate has blew his up but has the chance of a 2L mondao engine

detuned ST engine is used in the 2.0 Mondeo isn't it? not sure on the differences although except the airbox is different. Possibly mapping as well

Just done some digging...

The difference from the Mondeo to ST150 spec is the removal of the EGR valve, no swirl flaps in the inlet manifold and coil pack and HT leads on ST150. The Mondeo has coils on the plugs.

okay so mondeo will work,is cams throttle body ,valves all same
