Default where can i get an oil pressure regulator??

Hi, i'm in need of an oil pressure regulator that can be set to approx 50psi, and will also be resistant to the heat found in turbo applications.

Any sugestions welcome

I used a adjustable fuel pressure regulator once on my turbo project to lower oil pressure, worked fine

You can get oil fittings for turbos that have restrictors in them like these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Garrett-T3...#ht_2465wt_989
or these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4AN-Oil-Re...d#ht_907wt_905

Roller and normal bearing turbos need different restrictors, roller bearings don't need so much oil so have a large restrictor

I'm assuming you're taking an oil supply from the engine for the turbo then pumping it back? You'll need to use a scavenge pump for that as something like a fuel pump will not like running dry like this:

How far along the conversion are you? I've pretty much finished mine so give me a shout if you want to know anything then design it better lol

I'm going down the pikey route and using a stand alone oil system. Using an electric power steering pump set up, as its cheaper than a scavange pump.

I'll let you know how i get on Shonky, have you done a build thread?

It''s here: https://passionford.com/forum/restor...o-project.html

You'd only want to use a scavenge pump when you're using a shared oil system, I'm running a totally standalone oil supply and the scavenge pump I had blew fuses left right and centre because the outlet of the pump is like 19mm and I was reducing it down to something like 6mm for the turbo, it was drawing way too much current because it was working too hard which would have knackered the pump, I've ended up using a fuel pump as it's nice and small

What engine are you doing it on and what turbo are you going to use?

I'm using a t3 off an escort rs turbo for now. Engine is a 2L zetec with piper cams, omex management, st170 exhaust manifold, decat, few other mods and will either be making an air box for me throttle bodies or use a HO inlet i have at the moment.

Going to keep on std compression for now and run about 6 psi to see what it responds like, i'm never one to follow the trend so will see what happends.
