diff & hubs
im after some info please guys
im building a kit car and it uses sierra hubs.
i want to use granada hubs as im running 5x114.3 wheels (nissan) and will use wobble bolts
so am after info to do such job.
also it uses a 7" diff but hasnt got a lsd.
im looking at buying a 12v automatic m reg granada for the wheel hubs etc and also for the diff but im not sure what ratio it uses.
can you help there as well please?
i know its not a lsd but im going to buy a quife as every lsd ive had on other cossies etc has always been a bit open for my liking and i drove a quife lsd in a xr4i mk1 and loved it.

if you want a granada to get the bits from with "standard" ratios then you need to buy a pre 94 car
your potential purchase "should" have the 3.64:1 diff, same as the 2wd cossie and it "should" come with a 7.5 inch diff
if you want a 7 inch lsd then you would need to find an xr or cossie 4wd rear diff which are all interchagable and will fit in the same beam you are thinking of using

ive got a 7" welded diff with bolt in shafts i was trying to fit and it didnt fit
what does the 4.. and high 3.97 etc diffs come from?
i know that a 3.77 comes from a scorpio cosworth as i had one of those
as said im not bothered about a lsd as im going to go quife
dosnt the m reg hubs fit in place of sierra hubs?

the granadas only came with 3.36, 3.62 and 3.64 diffs as far as i'm aware, the sierra diffs were also available in 3.92 as a 7.5 inch size
the granada hubs will replace the sierra ones no bother as they are the same other than having more holes in them for the studs

this is the kit car
http://www.agmsportscars.co.uk/agm_s...cars_2_003.htm
mines not even nearly finished yet but you get the idea
it uses rover modded 3.5 V8, LT77 box, sierra rear diff and shafts, sierra hubs all round, cut in half and shortened steering rack!! yea i thought it was odd too!
basicly its a locost chassis with outriggers and a massive fibreglass shell bolted on
looks good IMO
should go well 220bhp and 750kgs
but sounds AWSOME

loads run 2wd cossie 280-380bhp, v8 rover 150-300bhp and there is a v12 AMG approx 550-650bhp engined one being built as well
my engine is over bored to nearly 3.7, high lift cam, rhodes, webber 500 carb, inlet manifold, tubular headers, only 1 exhaust silencer per side, v.mild head work, and an electric fan.
220bhp is what ive been told, but i had a 3.5 same spec and it made 174bhp@wheels this is a pretty much standard tuning setup that people go for and get around 175-180@wheels, i was going to get a turbo-ed 3.9 with nos running a genuine 376bhp but the rover engine is made of chocolate and is more unreliable than a YB running 400bhp on 4 greens
im going to get it up and road worthy then get used to the rover and get a ls when the time is right, ive got so many other projects at present and need to concentrate on getting some completed

I think you're using a over reading rolling road, not dyno dynamics is it ?
I've got a 4.6 ford modular V8 for sale complete with all ancillaries, was intended for a rear engined kit car(GT40) and a gearbox/transaxle the same as ascari use, that was £31K new for sale also, if interested!!

the 3.5 make 150bhp on twin su carbs, cast manifold and standard exhaust and cam.
v.v mild cam and injection they made 190bhp
im after an ls3 if and when the time is right, i want to see around 450-475bhp NA

Injections never made 190, despite the hype, same with the 4.6 power, and the reason why RR/LR were actually prosecuted in the states, for woefully misleading figures.
You get the same bullshit figures from TVR, way way off the mark from quoted power on the RV8.
