hey guys,
been having a high end tapping noise since i built my engine, i had a wonder about the followers and so removed the cams to find one follower very spongy, and one follower sitting lower than the rest... the spring had failed and got stuck causing it to have a gap between it and the cam, this is where i think the tapping is coming from...
the followers were new bought them in January, since i fitted them the car has done 4 miles... thats right 4 miles, since that is the case would it be best to buy 16 new ones and fit them or just replace the duff ones??
cheers

Personally due to the grief and the cost of the tappets not being bad, I would replace the lot, with a different make, pattern ones I've used with 100% success include BGA, the "flat one is unlikely to be the noisy one, it's more likely to be the spongy one that doesn't hold pressure.
