I started my fiesta the same month we found out we were expecting a baby. I've had my fiesta dumped up the end of the garage for 18months now, having barely touched it.
The engine is 2.0 zetec, its had oil in all this time but has never been turned over or started. Will the engine be a rite-off, or is there still life left in it? It's only now that I have the time/money to start finishing it all, and wondered what people's thoughts/oppinions would be.
My question is: Is the engine still ok to carry on basing a build around, or should I look for a fresh one.

Oil is an engines friend - it prevents corrosion and wearing - so storing with sump full will of done no damage what's so ever. Just would of made it slightly heavier when you removed it!

Just start it, but change the oil once up to temp, having oil in, or not makes NO difference at all to it being stored, about all it will do is stop the inside of the sump rusting which is where all the oil will be, it won't be stopping anything else rusting, but the inlet is shut by the tb so rust will be very minimal in the bores.
