Default throttle postion sensor problem

i have a mk5 escort cab which is running a fiesta rs turbo engine, the wiring loom went up in smoke this has now been repaired by an auto electrician but the car now will not start with the throttle postion sensor (which has been changed) plugged in. If you unlpug it the car will start but won't rev up if i then plug the sensor back in it will rev up but only if you feather the throttle also the car wil stall this is annoying as it looks like the summer has already gone and my missis is dying to drive the car again as its been off the road for about 6 months

Sensor wired around backwards, ie so it is reading full throttle at idle and idle when fully open ?
