Default Strange aircon blower issue

I have had a look through the forum but cant find this exact porblem.
Yesterday the blower has stopped working at possition 1, Possitions 2 -4 work ok. If I put it to 1 and press the aircon button the light come but no air. If I then switch it to 2 the blower tuens on but the aircon light goes off. I do get cold air for a few mins just like when you switch the air con off so I know it works and the blower also works but not sure whats going on with the setting 1 and air con going off at 2,3 and 4.
Car is a 53 plate focus

Can any one help

Possibly a faulty switch? other thing may be the resistor pack, although normally they just work on Pos 4 as this has a direct feed!

As Marty said, I had 2 replace the resistor on my own car as that is a common problem on pretty much all Fords of late

Most likely the switch, they are known to fail. If it were a failed resistor pack it would only work on position 4.
