rear beam how to tell if 4be or 2wd

Default rear beam how to tell if 4be or 2wd

Can anyone tell me if i post a picture up which part you have to measure to tell that a cosworth ream beam is a 4wd one or a 2wd one please as getting conflicting stories. I tem one is hoping to be 7" 4be





It would be much appreciated

measure where the top diff bolt goes in. it will be 7" for the 4x4 and 7.5" for the 2wd.

thats the part im hoping someone will tell me it is as i measured what i thought is where the diff goes and it meaured 7" some twat bought it on ebay and paid over the odds in his eyes and now saying he wants to return as wrong one. I have asked him to send a picture of where hes measuring as he says 7.5" and if im wrong ill take it back. Hes opened a case and left me back feedback a right jackarse

Thought they were both the same, only RS500s were different?

i have both types of rear beam at home. i measured both this morning.

so third picture with beam in table its the bit touching the table under the hoop yes?

NO, the bit that you need to measure is the top rearmost hole.

The 4x4 beam is just the same as other models, the 2WD is different in that the said mounting is wider due to the bigger diff, the trailing arms are also unique on the 2WD.

You need to measure that gap at the back on the actual beam itself where the two tangs are protruding this is where the diff mounts.

PLease someone confirm is this a 2wd 7.5" rear beam is this the right measurement

looks like 1 to me. it's difficult to tell which bracket you are measuring as the photo's are very close. if it's the top diff mounting hole it's defo a 2wd beam.

if you look carefully in the picture the bits that would have been touching the table are touching the floor. Oh dear looks like i sold someone the wrong beam as i measured the other bit(bit touching the table). Thanks for all you help i best get him to send it back lol
