I've just taken delivery of a set of 803s and 3 bar map sensor. I also have a Ahmed Bayjoo stage 3 chip to go with them. I am running standard T3 turbo and 2WD intercooler for now. What sort of boost can I run with this sort of set up and would I need to change the plugs?

Keep the boost to around 18psi and swap the plugs for NGK9s from one of the traders on here. Stu etc

Stage 1 boost = stage 1 power 270bhp simple

Best bet to fit a 4x4 or 500 cooler and crank up the boost to 25 spike and 21 held !!!

 

18psi is not stage one boost

2wd T3s won't like being driven at your quoted boost levels. A 4x4 will be closer to your quoted figures.

A T3/4 would be ideal all round.

A held 24/25psi then

You can learn something new anytime, i thought 15psi was stage 1, until
i emailed karl norris of NORRIS MOTORSPORT, his stage 1+ will peak at 24psi
and held 18psi at 6000rpm dropping to 14. at 7000rpm, to cut a log story short its in the chip parameters, on yellow std injectors sierra cosworth. i was thinking
like everyone else based on map sensor ie 2,bar set up 15psi boost. karl
does his chips from scratch, where i think most tuners have a base file to start with.

I have a Stage 3 T3/T04S (60-1 compressor) with Tial external wastegate and custom exhaust manifold. How much boost can I run with a Stage 3 chip with the T3/T4?

 

Yes mate we all know about Karls Stg1 "Gunship" conversion . It's very cleverly done to extract the most out of a standard setup. But Karl needs to be very sure of your engine.

With a Stg1 OTS chip you'd be better of peaking around 17psi and holding 15psi.

I'm not to fussed about killing the T3 as it will be replaced in a couple of months but would it be safe for me to run say 20psi on 803s, 3 bar, stage 3 chip, standard intercooler, -31?

 

I run 21-22psi held on a T3 hybrid, 4x4 cooler, greens and a baileymotorsport chip power is excellent.

turbo-nutter, i would advise changing to at least a 4x4 i/cooler asap, you can pick one up for Ł75 ish then sell your 2wd one for approx Ł40.
