Ford Mondeo loss of power @70mph
Firstly, reading this forum as a guest, I recently solved a previous problem at 0 cost.
So a big thanks.
I have nother problem, now!
.................
CAR: Ford Mondeo 130bhp, Manual, TDCI Zetec 2006 (06) 81k miles
Today, whilst accelerating at 70 mph, I had a loss of power meaning the car would not go faster than 70mph. I then noticed what I identified as a "glowplug warning light" come on.
I drove slowly (the car clearly without full power) and stopped within a mile. I then followed the user guide instruction (depress clutch and then turn to position 2 of ignition) The car started/worked fine and has completed 100 miles (during which I drove it vigourously) problem free since.
2 weeks ago, it had a ford Diagnostic from a main dealer which solved a warm start problem (by means of a downloaded update).
I intend to take it to dealer, asap, but I would appreciate a heads up from anyone here with similar issues as to what the problem may be.
Kind regards
Dan

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Glowplug light is also used as fault warning.
If the dealer is unable to read fault codes then next time the warning light is on, do NOT switch off the engine, untill the codes have been read.
