Default replacing the aux jack shaft bearing

is this an easy job with the engine in situ? ive removed the jack shaft and wonder how to get that bearing out? is it easy to fit the new one in? Its on my st escort cossie

Dead easy if you have the right tools, I assume it's torn up ?

i dont think its torn up, ive just got a little shake in the cam belt when its running so im changing things to try an resolve it, what sort or tools are required?

Bearing puller, a very special one in this case, it won't be the cause of any wobble, if it had enough play to do that it would have ripped up by now.
Take the pulley and cover off the aux shaft and shaft out have a look, easiest way in car for you would be to lip edge in and collapse in on itself.
Spin the aux/s it should spin freely 360 degree, you would see a odd wear mark on it if it was out of true running wise, for the amount of force on them from the belt I would think it impossible to bend one, more likely to be bent pulley itself if wobbling, unless it's been run low on oil and picked up and spun the bearing shell slightly misalingning the oil slot in it so it's now dry, but never seen it yet.

thanks youve given me some things to look at im wondering if the thrust plate maybe slightly worn giving the shaft slight in and out play, im gonna put a brand new sproket on the engine and put a brand new aux pulley on with a new belt.
