im in the process of buying a 3 door cosworth and was just wondering if there is a way of checking if its a genuine sierra cosworth by the floor number the log book states cosworth on it and i'v done a hpi check i just wont too be 100% befor handing over my cash any help will be much appreciated cheers j

Pretty good indication yes the VIN number should tally with the log book, look for any signs of welding around it or if any of the numbers look tampered with in which case it's a ringer.

Also the last 7 characters tally with the engine number, although this could quite understandably changed!
