My rs turbo has just started smoking i could hear a tappety sound just before it started it sounds like a follower could it be a valve stem seal ? any help would be nice its my first turbo and havent realy had much experiance with cvhs thanks

no one can help done a comp test they were all between140 and 150 psi ?

 

Mines tappy mate, have changed the tappets and valve stem oil seals, and i get a tiny puff of smoke on my first pulling away rev when i leave the street in the morning, nothing at all after that.....i am waiting to see if i get anything worse start happening only been back on the road 4 weeks after the resto....the joys of RS ownership!

 

I no yeah lol this is doing my head in ive always wanted one and i dont think ive been out and just drove it without having to lift the bonnet this is properly burning oil not sure how though took the boost hoses off and there is a bit of oil in them but i found swarf mixed with it not good
