GAZ Coilovers
Hello all
i have a Escos and i fitted gaz coilovers 2 year ago and i have always thought it handles crap
. My mate had a go in it today and he thought the same. Is there anything that i can do to it such as changing the spring rate to something else to get it to handle better???? Anthony
Its just when you put it into a corner it doesnt feel right at all
it always feels like its loosing grip to early and its going to spin around!!! It isnt slammed like. I would say the arches are 10mm above the wheels and the springs are just the ones that come with the coilovers. I havent had it corner weighted either.
Without sounding patronising, your best bet is to get someone to drive it you trust, and who is used to modded cars suspension wise, as you will be able to feel what is wrong.
eg if the car was bouncy for example and got thrown around and off course a lot mid corner when hitting a bump at the front or rear the springs are likely too hard, BUT with coilovers most rear are adjustable for BOTH compression AND rebound at the same time, with just the one adjuster, whereas fronts are normally compression only.
Need more detailed info about how it drives, does one end feel a lot different stiffer/softer than the other for example ?

I think the springs are too hard. I heard that Gaz coilovers come with to hard a spring fitted to them?? My dampers are only adjustable for rebound. I would say the back springs are to hard

sounds fairly low!
find out what springs people recommend for use on road going esc cos,
and then see what yours are compared to them... springs for coil overs aint that much money and you can get them in lots of different weights.
another question, is it worse going round corners one way or another? or about the same?
