Hi All,

I have an Escort Mk6 with 18 Diesel Engine. For the last 2 weeks it have been overheating, I took it to my mechanic and got new head gasket, whilst everything was out we also changed the thermostat and also new fan switch. It has been running ok after that since problem was from head gasket, however today whilst going to work the temperature was u on the N of norm (in gauge) and the fan was not yet on, then it went down on its own without the fan even switching on. What can be the problem? you think it is the fan switch faulty?

 

My fiesta does that sometimes as well will reach a point on the temperature gauge sit there for a while then goes down we put it down to slow opening thermostat

 

If it's no longer overheating then it's ok.
