is it ok to run a s2 erst with out the knock sensor?

im currently changing the rocker cover to a rs1600i and using the inlet to but 1 i need to sort knock sensor and also re locate the charge air temp from which i have welded into the new pipe from i/c to thottle body cheers guys

 

Not all S2 had knock sensors anyway, I assume yours did, ie your ecu is expecting one ?
I would guess it just deletes ignition retard upon sensing function, so if set up ok should be ok.

cheers mate , it has got a new ecu in it with the colors blue red black is this a knock sensor one or not ?

 

I'm not familiar with the S2 wiring unfortunately, I would ask stu/msd.
