Default Carbon Wrapping Advice.

Hey Guys.

I'm looking at wrapping some trim on my Car, and wanted some advice. It wont be happening for a while yet, as funds are low, but I thought I would do some research into what materials I need, etc. etc.

At the moment, my car has some pretty 'orrible looking wood trim and I'm looking to wrap it in Carbon Fiber vinyl. I want some advice on what the process would be (It's real wood, in what looks like a resin coating.) and whether I could lacquer the vinyl, as I hate matte looking Vinyl. Lacquered stuff looks waaay more realistic in my opinion!

Also, are any of you guys decent at doing it? I saw a guy with a black saph do some bits on his, and they looked amazing. If you are reading this mate, how much would you want to wrap and lacquer some trim pieces for me? I will cover the postage of course.

Here is a picture of a car with a similar interior to mine. Those wood pieces on the doors and glovebox are what I want wrapping. Cheers.

Thanks!

If you want it to look real, you could always wrap it in real carbon fibre cloth?

The vinyl stuff looks bloody awful IMO.

Pretty expensive stuff, but it does look much more realistic. Can this stuff me lacquered?

Also, how thick is it? It cant be too thick, otherwise the trim wont fit back in the slots.

ive wrapped a few bits on my car mate.have a look in my resto thread.
if you try and laquer the vinyl,it just goes black and you cant see the pattern.
pretty easy to work with though and very effective.
a nice alternative to painting things.
it may not look as good as real cf but personally id rather spend my money on other mods that are more worthwhile to me.
the thought of paying Ł600 for a cf bonnet,or wrapping it for Ł50 and having Ł550 left to spend on mods?
i know what id do

I've done a bit myself, I can supply the vinyl as well if you wish, I have offcuts etc so will be cheaper than buying by the metre if your only doing little bits....
