Default piston slap on Esc cos

With piston slap can you just change the pistons with new ones and the sound goes away or do you actually have to re build the bottom end?

You shouldn't get piston slap with 4x4 pistons, unlike the 2wd pistons they have an offset gudgeon pin so unless someone has put 2wd pistons in your motor, it is something else you can hear

Well it does sound a bit tappy when warm as well which i thought was tappets. Would a good mechanic be able to tell between tappets and cam tap.
