hi i just recently got my escort back on the road but i have problems starting it in the morning sometimes i have to take the filter of and push down on the flap on the metering unit. when the car finally gets going. i can start it easily when warm. does anyone know what could be the problem or what i could trythanks ian

 

When you are pushing the flap down I think it's pumping fuel in. Could be cold start valve. Try cleaning it.
