Default Heater blower stopped working on Sierra

Does anyone know if the heater blower motor stops working on a Sierra is it likely to be the motor itself or just the switch? I seem to remember reading somewhere that if the blower stopped working it was more than likely the blower motor seizing up through inactivity...or did I imagine that?
I'm having trouble getting a switch at local breakers so if I do find a car should I go for the blower motor as well??
Anyone had this fault and can remember what it was?

Cheers

Mike

take the switch out and using a voltage tester hard wire it
bypass the switch see if it comes on also under the scuttle panel
"between the bonnet and windscreen" theres plugs under a little black
pull off hood check for water inside this as it causes the contacts to
burn out "mine did this " hope this helps

Thanks for the info chaps - I'll try tracking down a switch as I haven't got a circuit tester and am a bit scared of electrical stuff....
