saph steering rack 2wd and 4wd the same?

Default saph steering rack 2wd and 4wd the same?

looking into putting PAS on the saph, it is 2wd, i have been offered a rack from a 4x4, will it fit? and help would be great thanks

totally different mate as said above.
mounting brackets are on different sides and i think the pinions are different lenghts

i could cut and weld the brackets, i wonder if there is something that could be done with the pinion shaft?

it might be as simple as fitting a 4x4 steering coloum uj instead of the 2wd one

ill grab the column off the 4x4 as well than, thanks for the help. Not prepared to pay big money for a new rack when this one is £20 (plus it will be exchange, and i dont have a PAS one to exchange) just got an electric PAS pump and resevoir today.

Nothing will fit so don't bother, the 4wd rack sits forward so the shafts are longer where it goes in.

Plenty of 2wd cars to choose from as they are all tAmesame, you can even fit one from a Granadab

i might be able to get you a xr4i power rack mate if your intrested. fitted to a car for a mot then the owner never go round to finishing the mot repairs so he broke the car.
so in all intents purposes it is never been used on the road. i can find out how much if your intrested
