i recently bought a mk3 XR3i, been of the road many years,it wont start,have replaced fuel pump,there is fuel to the metering head and fuel coming from it to the injectors but does not seem to be any coming from the injectors or cold start valve,has anyone any ideas? it will run with fuel from a jar via fuel hose into where the cold start valve is, any help would be great

 

is the metering flap stuck ?, press this down(assistant) whilst trying to start, the edges can get gummed up, clean with carb cleaner.

yeah tried that,this is another metering head i borrowed as mine was seized,it will run if you feed it petrol through where the cold start valve is,when turning the engine over with the start valve out there is no spray of fuel,only a little drop and none at the injectors at all,but there is plenty of presure if you loosing off pipe to injectors at the metering head
