got a 2001 galaxy 2.3 manual and when driving or rev the engine with lights on all the lights inside and out seem to flicker but if on tickover they dont and when got heater on its smells like a chinese take away inside any ideas out there cheers

sounds like your heater matrix is fooked, possibly leaking onto electrics

 

It sounds like you might have two faults, the lights could be related to your alternator. If you have a multimeter put it across the battery and measeure the voltage with the engine running it should be between 13.8v and 14.5v and holding steady, rev the engine and this shoul rise slightly but not pulsing drasticly.
