Default Escort Van 1.8d 2000 Endura De

Hi all im after some help - anyone know how to tighten up the alternator belt(its squealing) on this engine? - the bolts seem a bit of a swine - i can see one at the top and one underneath - are there anymore and do i need to undo them all to tighten tension the belt? Also the engine seems to be rocking/shaking quite a bit on tickover or at lights etc - engine/gearbox mount mount perhaps - anyway to check for this?

thanks in advance all

neil

undo the allen bolt in the centre of the tensioner pulley wind bolt at bottom of the tensioner anti clockwise[i think] belt needs to be quite tight to not squeal

Hi mate thanks for that info - is it possible to get to the tensioner pulley easily - or is it a jack under the sump and loosen the engine mount sort of job like the timing belt - which ones the tensioner pulley anyway- i've not come across one of these type before.

thanks for your time matey

Neil
