Hi all,
I'm in need of some quality advise,
I've just picked up a pair of Escort Cosworth 887/888 front callipers with the intention of fitting them to my Mk2 Mondeo 2.0 S reg Zetec.
I understand that they are also fitted to the ST Mondeo models too.
because of this will they be a straight swap of will I need to put spaces in to centralise the calliper?????
What discs do you recommed Mondeo ST, Escos, or ST170 discs??? and what pads.
I will be uprating to braided lines and to DOT 5.1 fluid also.
Thanks for you time
Kev

DON'T use DOT 5.1, just regular DOT4, plus braided lines, mk2 mondy are 260mm for the 4 cylinder, and 278mm for the V6.
The escos are 278mm, with a height of 47mm, and exactly the same(disc wise) as those fitted to the V6 mk2 mondeo, so 99% sure the calipers will be the same too, the only 4 cyl fitted with 278mm on mk1/2 mondy were the rare 4x4 version.
In short only 18mm larger, you will get MUCH more effect performance wise imo upgrading pads, I would suggest ebc redstuff ceramic, or yellowstuff, these both work perfectly from cold, and have incredible feel, unlike the DS2500 for example, I've used all these pads and still do use yellows, just bought some yellows for my tarox 6 pots instead of using the brand new DS2500 supplied with them, I get ferodo DS pads free, but instead pay for yellowstuff.
Add braided lines and dot 4 to this, use grooved/and or dimpled/drilled discs and these will keep the pads nice and glaze free all the time, you lose about 10%(est) pad life but well worth it for the extra bite.
Don't even think about the dreadful ebc greenstuff, way too weedy for a heavy car like the mondy.

Tabetha Thank you x
lol I didn't understand the "imo" part of you message but hey![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
So just to clarify the Escos callipers will fit. I need Mondy V6 Discs with Redstuff Pads, Braided line with DOT 4??
I'm new to this type of modding so forgive my ignorance??

sirbuynsellalot,
Nice Mondy 4x4.
looks like a bucket load of work to be done on it, I'm not going to that extreme but good luck with it.
As for the efi and throttle body what difference will it make???

Dot 4 is a lot better bet, it is not nearly so hygroscopic(water absorbing), so doesn't need changing frequently unlike dot 5.1 does.
Despit what people think dot5 has NOTHING to do with racing or higher boiling points but actually came about due to it's lower viscosity, and was developed specifically for SCP, stability control programmes for COLD climates.
