hi me and my uncle are rebuilding the top end of his cossie but he wants to clean the fuel rail, but for some reason we cant work out how to take the fuel feed off the fuel rail as it has some random spring thing that is holding it on can anyone help, silly question but just cant get our heads round it.

I am sure this will be the same as Saph, if so there is a small piece of hose which goes from the reg to the rail which is just secured by two jubilee clips, it's well worth replacing this as these perish and leak, as you can imagine it's very dangerous! The 4x4 had a superior design in that the reg is screwed to the rail. I think you may mean the return (Nearest the bulkhead?)

I know the bit you are on about , I found a piece of thickish plastic pipe that is just the right diameter to fit over to be able to push the spring in , it needs to be about 2 inches long and I put a split down it so it could be opened up , you then push in expand spring and remove the pipe , hope this helps

I found if you file down a thin screwdriver and put in the gap, you can dislodge the spring ring to one side and pull, comes straight out then, did this when I couldn't find my proper fuel disconnects, works just as well.

Is this the special tool I have heard reference to before the latter "Fuel disconnects" that is?
