Default Mk2 Focus Boot Release Sticking

Hi All

Picked up a 55 plate Focus yesterday and the previous owner said to use the boot release on the key rather than the one on the boot as the one on the boot "stuck".

So, being something of an idiot, first thing I do when I need to go in the boot...use the boot release on the boot! D'oh.

Now, when the car is unlocked, the boot release will intermittently open where the mechanism is obviously sticking.

I've taken the little rubber seal off of the boot release thing on the boot and there's a little microswitch underneath with a tiny little button on it which obviously releases the catch. I've tried just pulling that little button to try and unstick it but it doesn't appear to actually be physically stuck up.

Is there anything I can do to entirely disconnect the switch so that even if I do press the boot release on the boot it won't do anything, and will also solve my intermittent boot opening issue!

Many thanks in advance!
