Dead rev counter

Default Dead rev counter

My brothers rev. counter is dead he has a 2wd saff stage 1

Anyone here know what could be wrong.
From one day to another it has gone dead.

check wiring by coil,plus try and bypass small black signal filter near coil ,has red and green wires on it ending in small sealed filter unit-PJ

I have the same problem, a auto sparky has been telling me that on the cossy the signal is straight from the ECU to the counter plus an ignition negative.. Is this correct? I guess if the ECU wasn’t getting rev signal from wherever it would be running like a dog?

Thanks PJ removing the small sealed unit done the trick!! Should i get a replacment or is it safe to run without it?
