Mite be a really daft question but im struggling to get my focus through emissions. On the logbook its 1.6 but the engine is st170 can this affect the emissions. I did tell them that and they said it would not make a difference ?

nowhere in the inspection manual does it say that HID kits need to have self levelling or washers to pass. just mentions beam pattern.

why bother with poxy HID kits anyway? they look wank, dont give out that much light and are illegal too

i should be logged on as what it was originally, the cc on the vehicle details adjusted to what it is currently, and then BET test. if it fails the BET test, then it gets fun

it should be cat tested as whatever it can be easily identified as, in your case the st170 if you have told the tester thats what it is. although it wont make much difference as most of the vehicle specific tests are within the same parameters anyway. usually just a bit of a wider range for lambda readings

to be honest mate if i logged onto the car i would just go with what it said on logbook/mot system what that says. when i put details into the gas analyzer that would be year of car for bet test. if went onto full cat test then would input details as the car is registered

Thats why it keeps failing then. So have i got to change over the engine on logbook as 2.0l or just try and bodge it through dodgy m.o.t. What should the gas read for st170 then ?

it's a 2001 but the engine is a 2004. Originally the car was a 1.6.

it should be tested as 2001 if thats the age of the car then. no proof the engine is newer, so thats what id go by. and a default basic emissions test if you cant match the engine number (or find it) and tally it up with whats in the emissions data book

would still be .2% co and 200ppm hc limit on fast idle, and i think its .5 on normal idle
